Malcolm’s gesture of kindness toward several pediatric patients led to a global movement to improve the lived experiences of children in hospitals. While volunteering in a local hospital, Malcolm provided art supplies to pediatric patients so they could brighten up their hospital rooms. Art, he discovered, provides a “sense of positivity and confidence,” while offering hope and joy for all involved. Ambitiously he formed a team of like-minded peers and co-founded ArtPass, an international organization that seeks to change the way kids around the world perceive and experience hospitals through the power of art. A global network of ambassadors lead Art Pass’ mission. Through donated art supplies and art programming, ArtPass aims to improve young people's quality of life while seeking treatment and minimize the fear around hospitalization.
