アバウト Fahry A.
Fahry co-founded a youth community that advocates against gender-based violence.
Since the age of 5, Fahry has been actively involved in his aunt's organization, the PUPA Foundation, which focuses on education and empowerment for girls and children. Through his experiences volunteering and participating in youth forums, Fahry has developed a deep sense of empathy for children who were victims of broken homes and gender-based violence. Inspired by an event organized by Save The Children, Fahry discussed with his aunt on how to address this issue, which led to the development of Generasi Anti Kekerasan (Anti-Violence Generation), a youth community that educated the general public about gender-based violence, particularly online violence during the Covid-19 pandemic. They conducted training, campaigns, and festivals to advocate for ending gender-based violence. With the support of the PUPA network, the community has been able to collaborate with the media to raise awareness and hold hearings with government stakeholders to demand action against sexual harassment towards children.
Fahry believed that GAK's efforts can lead to a safer and healthier environment for young people to grow and realize their full potential. In addition to establishing issue-specific support groups, Fahry also planned to create changemaker groups in local schools and is seeking input from others. He hoped to inspire others with his story and encourage them to join and contribute to his initiative by becoming changemakers themselves.
