アバウト Carolina
Carolina is one of the founders of the Globalizando Project, which offers free language classes focused on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
Carolina co-founded and co-leads the Globalizando (Globalizing) Project, an innovative proposal for language teaching based on the connection between mentors and mentees using themes related to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The project uses the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) method, a methodology that combines language learning with content. The project is coordinated by a network of people that includes its founders and 30 volunteers who either serve as mentors or mentees. The team is very diverse, which means that a variety of profiles and backgrounds from different Latin American countries are represented. In turn, this form of representation allows for a rich exchange of ideas and knowledge. The group also has the support of Masters of Education students who provide pedagogical advice. At this time, the project continues to grow. With wide-scale participation, many students find themselves seeking careers related to SDGs development, and the last call for applications received more than 280 candidates for mentors and 900 candidates for mentees. Carolina believes that effective language learning should not happen in a robotic manner, and she aspires for mentors within the program to adopt a global language.
