Inspired by play-based learning method, Azzam is cultivating love for changemaking through fun and engaging board games.
Young people can only become Indonesia's demographic bonus when they become problem solvers and contributors to society. When most of his friends turned to online games, Azzam was motivated by a play-based learning method. He learned it from the World Economic Forum's Report on Education. Azzam and his team designed a fun educational board game that invites players to be heroes who try to defeat monsters that were attacking the city. With a focus on process rather than outcome, the game was designed for a small group 4-8 people as an instrument to raise awareness, to trigger peer discussions on various issues in the community, and to give them a space to develop their innate capacity for empathy and creative problem solving. Azzam recruited 4 team members from different provinces in Indonesia. They have introduced Tuntungan Ground Board Game in six educational institutions in four provinces; engaging 100 students aged 14-18.
