Ashoka's New Pan African Leadership Team

We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Angelou Ezeilo, Okey Uzoechina, and Yashveer Singh to be the new acting Co-Diamond Leaders of Ashoka Africa! 

With a special focus on Africa, Ashoka believe this new leadership will help harness the huge entrepreneurial ability in the continent. It should enable us to effectively lead the African continent in our vision of supporting Social Entrepreneurs and unleashing the Everyone a Changemaker framework so that all Africans have the changemaking power and resources needed for a good life and to innovate solutions to the continent’s most pressing environmental and social challenges. These 3 leaders have been working together with each  other from last 2 years and have built momentum on several dimensions. Here is a brief introduction to each of them: 

Angelou Ezeilo, with her extensive experience in social entrepreneurship and environmental sustainability, brings a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in Africa. Angelou also contributed significantly as an Ashoka Fellow before joining Ashoka as a Leadership Group Member. Her passion for empowering communities and creating sustainable change will be invaluable in driving Ashoka's mission forward. 

Okey Uzoechina, a seasoned entrepreneur and advocate for youth development, has a proven track record of transforming ideas into impactful ventures. With his expertise in innovation and leadership, Okey will play a key role in fostering a culture of changemaking across the African continent. 

Yashveer Singh is known for entrepreneuring the Ashoka Young Changemakers program globally and helping lead large changemaking partnerships in different parts of the world. Yashveer will bring strategic planning and bridge African and global ideas and experiences. 

Together, Angelou, Okey, and Yashveer will form a formidable team, leveraging their unique skills and perspectives to lead Ashoka Africa into a new era of social innovation and changemaking. Their collective leadership will ensure that Ashoka Africa continues to be at the forefront of driving positive systemic change and creating a more inclusive and sustainable future for all.
