Ashraf Maisikeli Aminu

Ashraf Aminu is a young changemaker from Nigeria dedicated to eradicating the issue of street children and helping out-of-school children in Northern Nigeria to harness their abilities, helping them upskill and connecting them to opportunities that keep them engaged, ensuring they do not feel marginalized or excluded, undermining their agency and resilience.  

Ashraf combines Participatory and Bottom-up approaches to address these issues while leveraging spoken word poetry and calligraphy as mediums for awareness and inspiration. The Participatory approach involves engaging community members, including young people, in decision-making processes, problem-solving, and program implementation. Through his participatory workshops and focus groups, he creates spaces for dialogue, collaboration, and co-creation, ensuring that his interventions are responsive to the needs, priorities, and aspirations of the communities he serves.
