Universal broadband is a priority in the U.S., with $42.45B earmarked in the recent Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, including $3B for broadband in Indigenous communities.
On June 26, come meet Ashoka Fellow Matthew Rantenan, who has called attention to this digital infrastructure gap for years and worked closely with Indigenous communities to pioneer solutions. Now he is building up a new workforce of Indigenous experts and technicians who are extending high-speed internet to their communities – and with it Indigenous sovereignty, full participation in democracy and the economy, and more.
Matthew will be speaking with technology policy expert Sascha Meinrath, an Ashoka Fellow.
This conversation will run about 30 minutes and be in English. See you there, bring your questions!
