Diah engages young people to conserve natural resources and tourism spots in Jambi.
Diah recognized the threat of climate change to the natural resources and tourism potential of her hometown, and believed that the younger generation had a crucial role in shaping the future. She took the initiative to gather her friends and organize youth development and environmental conservation activities, including World Clean Up Day and recycling of trash. The products derived from these activities, such as soaps, keychains, carnival costumes, and ecoenzymes, were promoted to small and medium-sized enterprises for production and sale; providing financial empowerment to the community. In addition, they have engaged in community service activities such as volunteering for disaster victims, teaching indigenous children, and cleaning up mosques. Through her project, Janglangso, Diah provided a platform for her peers to express themselves while also promoting the conservation of nature and culture. As of now, Janglangso has positively impacted and engaged 250 youths and adults in Jambi.
Diah's goal is to encourage young people to take a more active role in addressing current issues that could negatively impact their future. She hoped her peers could start small by addressing local environmental and tourism challenges while preserving their community's creative sectors. To achieve this, she aimed to expand her knowledge and experiences by exchanging ideas with other changemakers through the Ashoka community.
