Megan C.

As a freshman in high school, Megan wanted to do good in her community but didn't know how to take action on the issues she cared about. After attending a 12-week program that encourages young people to find something important to them in their community and address it, she began a nonprofit organization called The Urban Garden Initiative, which aimed to inspire and empower youth to achieve urban sustainability through gardening-based educational programs. Through this initiative, Megan was able to build gardens, teach workshops, and inspire others to start their journeys by planting gardens and teaching their peers how to do the same. This allowed the initiative to grow exponentially into other states and countries.
