Acerca de Abeedah Alabi
Founder of Project Climeset | Climate Change Education
Abeedah Alabi is a creative young changemaker from Nigeria who is dedicated to tackling the issue of climate-change illiteracy among young people in her community and across the country. She is motivated by her personal experience of being a victim of environmental disasters such as flooding caused by plastic and waste-blocked drainages, which left her with injuries after crossing waters whose depths she could not discern to access education daily.
Abeedah understands that a shift in mindset is the first step to acting towards reducing the devastating effects of the climate change problem in Nigeria. She is filling the knowledge gap and empowering young people in primary and secondary schools, with the necessary information and skills to address climate change in their communities. Together with partners, she sets up eco-clubs in schools to promote environmental sustainability practices and engage students in climate action participation through storytelling sessions. Additionally, she uses online campaigns to raise public awareness about climate change and sustainability.
