Changemaking in action amidst the war in Ukraine
Eastern Europe has witnessed war in the region for two years. The invasion of Russia in Ukraine has shifted our thinking regarding stability in Europe, the quality of democracy, and social cohesion and collaboration as prerequisites to addressing complex social and geopolitical challenges.
In Poland, we have experienced an outstanding activation of changemakers across society and among people on the move. Now, we aim to jointly explore what has occurred in the last two years in Poland and the lessons we can draw from the complex architecture of multi-stakeholder networks connected around a shared purpose for the common good.
We invited two Ashoka Fellows who are at the core of these networks:
- Myroslava Keryk, who activates people from Ukraine living in Poland for the betterment of society as a whole (including both people on the move and hosts)
- Krzysztof Stanowski, who has facilitated collaborations across the border region and the city of Lublin, preparing them for times of crisis.
At this event, Myroslava and Krzysztof will share lessons learned and guide us through the exploration together with Ashoka Fellow and Ashoka Poland Co-Director, Agata Stafiej–Bartosik.
