Community Lab in Central-Europe is an idea rooted in a collaborative work of Ashoka and EIT Climate-KIC in 2019. Based on an ecosystem map of climate changemakers in the region, a consortia of CKIC partners is working on the establishment of this Community Lab, welcoming individuals, start-ups and organisations from the region. Their common aim is to introduce changes and establish strong networks and collaboration. The consortia includes organisations with different backgrounds: Cleantech ForEst, Impact Hub, Ashoka, 4CF Strategic Forsight, Centre for Systems Solutions.
The Map of Climate Innovators, released earlier this year, was the first step in the bigger plan of building a community of regional climate changemakers. Community Lab is the next step towards sharing, debating, and collaboration for building the future we all envision for a healthy planet. The Lab is also offering seed financial opportunities of over 20,000 EUR for cross-border collaborations that will be incubated by Lab participants.
In the coming months the Lab will host several thematic webinars and learning experiences around trust building in the climate action field, sustainable food systems, energy efficiency and new models for green growth/ reindustrialization.
