With the combination of overwhelming issues and no straightforward path to begin combating them, it can be easy for young people to feel helpless when it comes to influencing the world around them. When Lillian first got involved with political organizing at a young age, she found it difficult to figure out where to start. Realizing that other young people were facing the same issue, she created Students Stand Up to equip young people with the tools and resources necessary to begin and succeed in activism and political advocacy. Along with training young activists, Lillian’s organization also matches participants with partner organizations across a wide variety of issues depending on what each individual participant is passionate about.
