Faye S.
About Faye S.
Faye is fighting against child trafficking and sexual exploitation through peer-to-peer education system, rescue and rehabilitation.
At the age of 11, Faye read that 43 percent of trafficked children were under 14-year-old. Thirty percent of Indonesia's prostitution involved children under 18. Faye was shocked that very little information about sexual exploitation was available for young people like her, who were actually the target victim of this vicious business. With the help of her mother and family friends, Faye started Rumah Faye. Faye is now 18, and her initiative has grown into a peer-to-peer education system for victims and target victims, a rescue system that collaborates with local law enforcement authorities, and a rehabilitation program that has helped more than 90 trafficked children to find a safe place that also has equipped them with life skills before they returned to their community. She encourages the survivors or those who “graduated” from the safe house to come back and help another victim as the "sisters". It really pushes the power of the survivors as they are able to stand by themselves and help others achieve it.
