Yet, staggeringly low employment rates across the country are driving up youth anxiety and despondency. At the root of this is a fundamental mismatch between industrial era school curricula focused on repetitive and hierarchical learning, and the skills needed for future jobs. With job automation and the gig economy arriving at a rapid pace, it’s clear that a new education system focused on 21st century skills is of the essence.
