New generations are practicing spirituality and defining faith through new means. In particular, Gen Z is more consciously building their Spiritual Systems by a method of "mix and match" (belonging to several communities, incorporating different practices and traditions).
There are two groups of people that are distinct from one another -- the nones and the dones. On one side, "spiritual but not religious" may include people who were never part of a faith tradition. On the other side, there are people who were religious but now are "done with religion" but don't discard spirituality or faith.
