A new study in Nature concludes that by 2050 climate change will be causing economic damage worth $38 trillion every year. In other words, the cost of inaction is high, just in financial terms. One line of course correction is making products that last and building mindsets of repair (rather than dispose). This is especially important for electronics, the fastest growing waste stream in the world.
On May 8th, we'll talk with Ashoka Fellow Ugo Vallauri, founder of the Restart Project in the UK. He and his team are among the founding members of the European Right to Repair campaign that has seen growing support among consumers, aligned companies, and policymakers. Join us to learn more about new laws coming online in Europe just in the last months and the ripple effects we can expect in other parts of the world.
Speaking with Ugo will be Ashoka’s Maria Razquin. This conversation will run about 30 minutes and will be in English. See you there, bring your questions!
