Google is a company that believes deeply in entrepreneurship. And this is a company that believes deeply in the power of information. We don’t think there’s another organization that combines these two things in a more compelling way than Ashoka.

New opportunities for charitable giving through the Pension Protection Act of 2006
The Pension Protection Act of 2006 allows IRA owners age 70½ or older to make tax-free direct payments of up to $100,000 to charitable organizations in 2006 and 2007. Individuals may prefer to make charitable donations using money from their IRA so that normally taxable distributions from their IRAs can be made tax-free. These distributions can count toward the donor’s IRA minimum distribution for the year. Contributions made through an IRA reduce the size of a donor’s estate thereby reducing the total amount of taxes imposed on the individual. Please consult your financial advisor for more information.
